It’s World Book Day! πŸ‘©β€πŸ«πŸ“šπŸ§‘β€πŸ«

5th Mar 2026

We celebrated World Book Day by coming into school in our pyjamas and we even brought along our teddies and blankets! We had a lovely day decorating our very own wooden bookmarks with coloured tassels, kindly donated to us by a parent. ✨✨

In the afternoon our whole school participated in a Shared Read. The children had brought books from home and were given the opportunity to share these with children who weren’t in their class. We are really thinking about reading for enjoyment in this school year so this was a perfect opportunity to showcase this.

The children had a really enjoyable day and they should be very proud of themselves. They way they found partners in the hall and sat down quietly to read and share their books. The way the older children looked out for the younger ones and made sure they had a partner was so kind and the younger children listened so intently to the older children’s stories. We’ve ticked off two of our Take 5 Steps to Well-being: Connect & Keep Learning as well as showcasing our school rules of staying safe, showing respect and doing your best.
